The highly-anticipated 4th ASLI Ageing Fest 2023 is set to dazzle the capital on November 17, 2023, at the prestigious Le Méridien Hotel. As India's elderly population continues to surge, projected to reach approximately 330 million by 2050, accounting for 20% of the total population, it is time for our collective attention to address the challenges and opportunities presented by this demographic shift.
Looking towards 2050, where one in every five individuals will be a senior citizen, the digitally empowered Gen S opens doors to new possibilities. In this context, e-commerce emerges as a key player in unlocking the potential of the lifestyle products market estimated at INR 39,488 crores. Against this backdrop and with a commitment to #BreakTheStigma around aging, the Association of Senior Living India (ASLI) is proud to present the first-of-its-kind Senior Only Fashion Show in association with Ashiana Housing Limited.
This groundbreaking event serves as a platform for seniors to showcase their unique fashion sense and confidence, challenging societal stereotypes about aging and beauty. The fashion show aims to empower and promote inclusivity by highlighting the fashion choices and personal styles of older individuals. It is a celebration of seniors feeling confident, glamorous, and celebrated, regardless of their age.
This seniors-only fashion show will feature not only senior citizens but also a stellar lineup of leading influencers, lifestyle figures, entertainment personalities, business magnates, industrialists, and thought leaders, all walking the ramp with senior citizens. The show will be curated by rising fashion wizards and choreographed by the leading entertainment choreographer, Sandeep Ahluwalia. The seniors will showcase garments designed by the ace fashion designer Amit Talwar of AT Haute Couture, while influencers will add charisma to the event.
The festival's core mission is to #BreakTheStigma surrounding aging and to emphasize the immense potential of the senior care sector while celebrating the vitality of senior citizens. This fashion show challenges conventional notions of beauty and style, proving that fashion knows no age limits. Seniors can be just as fashionable and confident as any other age group. The event aims to inspire people of all ages to embrace their unique style and appreciate the beauty that comes with aging.
