Strong
year-over-year growth in the first half of 2021 showcases the success
of OnePlus’ growing product portfolio and business strategy in key
regions
Global
technology brand OnePlus today announced a significant milestone for
its global smartphone shipments, reporting a 257% YoY shipment growth
globally for the first half of 2021(1). The brand also achieved
significant sales growth across each of its key markets including the
United States, Europe, India and China in the first half of 2021, driven
by its global smartphone portfolio including its latest flagship
series, the OnePlus 9 series, and its new mid-range products, the Nord
and Nord N series.
In 2020, OnePlus announced a new business strategy to further expand its product portfolio for OnePlus global users by introducing the Nord product line, offering the quintessential OnePlus experience to a wider user base at more diverse price points.
OnePlus was the fastest growing brand in the smartphone market in the U.S. in H1 2021 with 428% YoY shipment growth(2), driven by the OnePlus 9 series and the new OnePlus Nord N series. More than 1 million Nord N series devices were sold since January 2021.
In Europe, among the top five smartphone brands, OnePlus emerged as the fastest growing brand in Q2 2021 with 304% YoY growth(3) driven by wide range of products offered.
In the India market, OnePlus successfully gained market leadership as the No. 1 smartphone brand in the premium smartphone market once again, achieving 229% YoY growth for Q2 2021(4). Moreover, OnePlus led the premium 5G smartphone market segment with 48% market share in India, according to the latest Counterpoint Research India Smartphone Tracker for Q2 2021. The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro also emerged among the top three best-selling smartphone devices in the ultra-premium (INR >45K) smartphone segment.
In
the China market, where only the flagship OnePlus 9 series is
available, OnePlus also saw a 124% YoY increase in shipments in H1
2021(5).
