The masterpiece showcases poetry from around the globe
Poet and novelist Sahana Ahmed is delighted to announce the launch of an exceptional masterpiece, 'Amity: peace poems'. The book is an amalgamation of ninety-five poems by forty-seven writers from France, India, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, the Philippines, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, curated by Ms Sahana Ahmed herself. These poems cover the five interrelated and interdependent spheres of peace: personal, social, political, institutional and ecological.
The visionary filmmaker, artist, poet and fashion designer, Mr Muzaffar Ali, and renowned author and columnist Ms Humra Quraishi honoured the launch with their gracious presence at Quill And Canvas Bookstore and Art Gallery. Ms Sahana Ahmed introduced the poems of award-winning writers from across the globe, with renowned poets Vinita Agrawal and Seema Jain, among others, doing readings of their work.
Presenting the anthology, Ms Sahana Ahmed said, "The vision for this book was to bring together honest voices regardless of previous writing experience. I am grateful to G100 for giving me a platform as the India Country Chair of the World Peace Wing, where I am able to contribute to creating an equal, progressive and inclusive environment for women worldwide."
‘Amity: peace poems’ has been endorsed by Honourable Chief Minister of Odisha Mr Naveen Patnaik, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ms Ouided Bouchamaoui and Gandhian Padma Shri Agus Indra Udayana.
